Budget tips
Set up an automatic savings plan Many banks offer an automatic savings plan. I have my savings account with ING Direct and have it set up to automatically transfer a certain amount from my checking account every other week. I've found that I can forget about this for months and suddenly realize that my savings has built up faster than I expected!
Automatic savings plans work very well with NeoBudget. You can have it as part of your paycheck plan so you can track how much will be deducted from each paycheck. I have two accounts when I sign into NeoBudget: "Checking" and "Savings." I have my paycheck deposited into Checking and I set up a paycheck plan for it in NeoBudget. But I also set up a paycheck plan for my automatic savings. Since ING deducts the same amount from my checking account every two weeks, it essentially acts the same as a paycheck into my Savings account. So I even have envelopes in my savings account such as "Emergency", "Car Insurance", and "Property Tax". Every other week, a little bit of money goes into each envelope and I can easily track it with NeoBudget. Other budget tips:
